Helping to Create Happy, Healthy Breasts. . . one Woman at a Time

5 Tips for Breast Health

  1. Avoid wearing under-wire bras (and go braless when you can). Underwire bras limit breast circulation and can constrict lymphatic flow. Find wireless bras at Target, Sports Authority, JCPennys and Macy’s. Or make a small cut in your under wire bras and remove the wire yourself!

  1. Practice lymphatic breast massage everyday. This massage helps to dislodge toxins in the breast tissue, promotes breast circulation and helps to keep the lymphatic system fresh and the milk ducts clear. (You may want to do the breast massage in the shower, using soap for easier movement.) Repeat each step 20x, once a day. Step 1: Massage upper arm, into armpit area and down side into upper breast. Step 2: Using both hands, and starting on bottom inner half of each breast near the sternum, stroke horizontally across bottom and then up sides of breast toward armpit. Step 3: Using both hands, and starting on the upper inner half of each breast near the breast bone, stroke across tops of breasts then up toward armpit.

  1. Increase your alkaline food intake. Eat more leafy green veggies (kale, parsley, chard) and decrease or eliminate daily consumption of coffee, alcohol, sugar and caffeine.

  1. Increase Self-Care activities and learn to process stress, anger, grief and resentment in healthy ways (exercise, meditation, hypnosis, spiritual practice, deep breathing, journaling, therapy, bodywork).

  1. Make sure your Liver, Kidneys and GI Track are in optimum working order. These organs directly affect breast health…improve their function with nutrition, herbs, acupuncture, Chinese medicine and other holistic remedies.
